Quest Policy Authority for UC Overview"Real-time" communications, including public instant messaging (IM), enterprise IM, conferencing, voice over IP (VoIP) and mobile messaging are used throughout most enterprises, and often exist in a free-for-all with few constraints on usage. Although great for collaborating, left unmanaged it is impossible to measure and achieve regulatory compliance, protect against outside threats or to ensure efficient and appropriate use.
Quest Policy Authority for UC enforces policies and archives instant messaging and other real-time communications. Its flexible architecture blocks unwanted protocols, improves security and hygiene, protects sensitive data, and enforces regulatory compliance. Policy Authority captures IM and file transfers, PIN-to-PIN and SMS messages further helping IT organizations create a true compliance archive.

Appliance Options
Quest Policy Authority for UC is available as stand-alone software or on a hardened appliance. There are two appliance options available: A1000 and A15000. Click the heading link to learn which is right for you.

Archive IM, SMS and BlackBerry PIN-to-PIN Messages
A recent survey of IT professionals showed that while 76% of companies archive email, no more than 20% archive any other mode of electronic or real-time communication. Archiving of real-time communications is essential for regulatory and policy compliance.
Quest Policy Authority for UC packages IM conversation transcripts, voice and conferencing logs, file transfers, SMS communications, BlackBerry PIN-to-PIN messages and call logs, and exports them to most e-mail archives into the unique formats recognized and supported by those email archiving systems, including Quest Archive Manager. Conversation summary metadata is included, ensuring that your email archive contains a complete record of all electronic communications as mandated by compliance regimes, and reducing the e-Discovery burden on your IT organization.
